Many of those who are now and will continue to feel the first and worst impacts of this emergency are NOT the ones contributing to the problem most. This leaves us responsible. An out of sight out of mind attitude is very human yet we must instead act from an understanding that this is a world issue that will impact and involve each and every one of us and nothing less.
We all deserve to feel empowered.
The world deserves our action.

A note from Marna, the founder of One Times Everyone:
Yes, this is scary. Upon realizing that I needed to participate in doing something more regarding the climate emergency the first thing I did was research at great length. What I found out was worse than I had previously understood. Shockingly so. I had known about most of the aspects of what is happening within our climate emergency but hadn't known to the full extent. Nor did I understand what had happened for it to be widely ignored as we went on business as usual for three decades after it was well understood by scientists and the government that there was an unprecedented problem occurring, caused by us and preventable by us as well.
When I began talking to others about all that I had learned I found a very strong, common thread among most everyone I spoke to. Almost everyone that I know, and I am certain many thousands of others, feels a very similar way. A distinct lack of empowerment, living in a sort of a self protective denial about this emergency, worried but unable to put that energy anywhere that feels truly productive so effectively pushing it aside and going on as if everything is kind of ok while knowing all the while that it is not.
Regardless of where each of us is in our own process there is a lot more work to do, especially in working together.
This movement is meant to help us take a step into facing this together - in the easiest way possible - in hopes that it allows us to begin to fight on a different level for what should be and for what has to be on a large scale. The reality is that this is a human problem. Humans are causing it and humans can change the story.

We can help those people already in place to do the great work they are trying to do AND understand enough to fight for necessary policy changes in this most crucial of times.

This is an emergency. Let's act like it. We can do it together.

Thank you.
